Credit run out and your energy supply switched off?

As soon as you've got credit back on your meter you'll need to reconnect your supply. The only way to do this is through your smart Pay As You Go meter(s).

Use this guide to help you through the process of reconnecting your supply. If you follow the step-by-step instructions, you should be back on supply shortly. We’ve also created some videos which you can watch so you know what to look out for during the reconnection.

Gas smart Pay As You Go meter

Before you begin to reconnect your supply on your gas smart Pay As You Go meter, make sure you've topped up your meter. You'll need to add enough credit to cover any emergency credit you've used.

Also, you must make sure you've switched off all gas appliances at the mains, including your boiler.

  1. Press the Black button (button B).
  2. You will see the message, “Appliances Off? Hold A For Gas”.
  3. Press and hold the Orange button (button A) until you see the message, “Release A For Gas”.
  4. Take your finger off the button and wait. This can take up to a minute.
  5. You should see a screen that shows available credit.

Electricity smart Pay As You Go meter

Before you begin to reconnect your supply on your electricity smart Pay As You Go meter, make sure you've topped up your meter. You'll need to add enough credit to cover any emergency credit you've used.

  1. The screen will show the message, “PRESS B FOR ELEC”.
  2. Press the B button.
  3. The screen will show the message, “EN SUPPLY? A=NO B=YES”.
  4. Press the B button.
  5. The screen will show the message, “SUPPLY ENABLED”.
