Here's what Frustration-Free Broadband means for you

Price promise

Zero price hikes during your 18-month contract.

Our price promise is to keep Broadband & Phone package prices fixed for the duration of the contract from your package start date. The only exception will be any increases to VAT or any other relevant tax/levy. The monthly package price includes your monthly broadband, line rental and selected call package.

Happiness Guarantee

If you’re not completely satisfied with our service, you can leave for free within the first 60 days.

Our Happiness Guarantee is for customers signing up for an SSE fixed-term broadband and phone package bundle. They can leave their contract without early termination charges within the first 60 days, if they’re not happy with any aspect of the service they have received, and we have been unable to fix the problem.

Unlimited downloads

Stream, download or play to your heart’s content with unlimited internet usage. This is subject to our Broadband Acceptable Use Policy.

What you need to know

Prices for broadband and phone products include 20% VAT.

Our 20 range of broadband and phone packages are available to customers with a suitable phone line.

There is an 18-month fixed-term contract on our broadband packages; leaving SSE before the end of that term may incur early termination charges.

The price displayed is the monthly cost of the broadband, phone line and optional call package for the duration of your 18-month contract. We’ll remind you before the end of your contract that your package price will change. If you do nothing, from month 19, you will move onto a rolling contract and pay the monthly price applicable to your package at that time.

Broadband speed

The broadband speeds quoted above are average speeds at times of peak usage. These are subject to our Broadband Acceptable Use Policy. Actual speeds are dependent upon the length and quality of the copper line between your home and your exchange or street cabinet, as well as environmental factors within your home such as Wi-Fi interference, in-home wiring and congestion on the service you are accessing.

SSE Broadband Happiness Guarantee

Customers signing up for SSE fixed-term broadband and phone package bundles can leave their contract without early termination charges if, within the first 60 days, they are not happy with any aspect of the service they have received, and we have been unable to fix the problem. Cancellation and early termination charges

The following charges may apply following cancellation of the broadband contract:

If you cancel your broadband order before your service start date, there will be no charge unless you have already received your router and you do not return this to us. When you notify us of your cancellation, we will send you a prepaid postage envelope for the return of the router. Should you not return your router within 30 working days an equipment charge of £54 will be added to your account.

For termination at any point between the broadband service start date and the end of the 18th month of the contract there is an early termination charge for every day remaining of the contract. This is 39p per day (on average £11.86 per month) for (20) Unlimited Fibre with a maximum charge of £213.53 per contract. For (20) Unlimited Fibre Plus, it’s 44p per day (on average £13.38 per month) with a maximum charge of £240.90 per contract. These charges are not subject to VAT.

These packages are covered by our ‘Happiness Guarantee’ promise, which waives termination charges applicable on your contract if you decide to leave due to dissatisfaction with the broadband service provided by SSE. The ‘Happiness Guarantee’ applies only to the first 60 days of this fixed term contract. More details can be found on our website, on the broadband regulatory page.

SSE Fix and Fibre v3 Bundle

£57 saving is based on a 5% discount on energy, when compared with our Standard Tariff. Comparison based on Ofgem’s medium Typical annual Consumption Values (12,000kWh for gas and 2,900kWh for electricity) for customers paying by monthly and quarterly Direct Debit (an average saving of £57.60). £75 energy credit for standard energy tariff customers

This offer is available to Dual Fuel and All Electric Heating customers who pay by monthly Direct Debit or quarterly billing only and are on our Standard tariff. If you have a Pay As You Go meter installed in your property you will not be eligible for the reward.

You’ll get a £75 energy account credit when you sign-up to our (20) Unlimited Fibre or (20) Unlimited Fibre Plus broadband (over 18 months).
