Important update on the M&S and SSE partnership

After nine years, SSE and M&S have taken the decision to end their relationship. SSE and M&S have achieved a lot as partners, supplying 100% green energy and supporting over 70 community energy projects under the M&S Energy brand.

M&S Energy customers will continue to be supplied by SSE, with no interruption to their supply following this announcement. We will be writing to customers shortly to let them know about all the options available to them when the contract comes to an end in September 2018. In the meantime, you can still log in to your M&S Energy online account.

SSE and M&S will continue working to ensure all communications are clear and transparent for customers.

Why has the relationship come to an end?

After many successful years of working together to provide customers with gas and electricity the two companies have decided not to continue with their relationship. The separation is an amicable one and SSE is still committed to supplying M&S Energy customers’ energy.

Who supplies my energy today?
SSE is M&S’ energy supply partner until 28 September 2018, supplying the electricity and gas for M&S Energy’s customers and providing customer services.
What happens to my tariff?

Your current tariff and the prices you pay remain the same, we will be writing to customers when the relationship ends in September 2018 to confirm their tariff details.

Will I be moved to another supplier now?
Until 28 September 2018, M&S customers will remain with M&S Energy and keep the same high levels of customer service that they quite rightly expect unless they choose otherwise. We will be writing to let them know about the change and options available.
What deals will you provide for M&S customers that want to stay with SSE?

SSE offers a range of great value tariffs for you to choose from. The good news is you don’t need to do anything to continue receiving the same price and service you have been getting from M&S Energy, after the partnership ends on 28 September 2018.

Will M&S customers see an increase in prices?
SSE will write to customers in the near future to let them know what tariffs are available to them after 28 September 2018. Following the end of the relationship, M&S Energy customers on fixed deals will remain on their current tariff until it finishes and their prices will stay the same.
When will the relationship between SSE and M&S formally end?
The relationship between SSE and M&S will formally end on 28 September 2018.
