Agreement to sell SSE’s household energy and services business to OVO Energy

You may have heard in the media that OVO Energy is buying SSE’s household energy and services business in Great Britain. The deal first needs to be approved by the regulators, so SSE and OVO remain competitors, serving their own customers as normal until the sale has been completed. We expect this to happen in late 2019 or early 2020. After the sale, the SSE brands will continue to operate as normal, so there will be no immediate changes and no interruption to your service.

Meanwhile, here at SSE we remain as focused as ever on looking after our customers.

Our gas and electricity prices are changing for our Standard, Pay As You Go (prepayment) and Energy Assist tariffs on 1 October 2019. We've made these changes in line with Ofgem's new price cap. Here's some help to understand our price change.
