Everyone should have access to the best energy deals. If you're a Pay As You Go customer with a debt of less than £500, it's now even easier to switch. The Debt Assignment Protocol allows you to change supplier and take your debt with you.
It isn't guaranteed, but it could be an option for you if you want to switch.
If you're supplied by us at the moment and have a debt, you could change to another supplier. You'll need to check with them about how to switch.
Switching your energy should be straightforward. That's why we've signed up to the Energy Switch Guarantee.
You ask us to take over your supply by signing up online or calling on 0345 026 7058. If you call us, we'll tell you about the Debt Assignment Protocol over the phone. If you sign up online, we'll send you letters to explain the details.
We ask your current energy supplier if we can take over your energy supply. If they object to you moving, they’ll contact you to tell you why.
If your current energy supplier successfully objects because of your debt balance, the Debt Assignment Protocol will be activated. This will allow the switch to continue.
To allow the switch, we'll need to exchange your account details and debt information with your current energy supplier. By continuing with the switch you agree that we can share this.
It normally takes 21 days to switch. We'll let you know what's going on every step of the way. You'll get a Welcome Pack with a copy of your contract and our terms and conditions.
During the switch, we'll try to contact you about your debt and agree weekly repayments. If we can't get in touch with you, your debt repayments will be the same as what you're repaying at the moment.
We'll let you know when your supply is going to start with us and when your debt is moved as well.
