Plus, if you pay by Direct Debit, you will receive a discount of £40 per annum, per fuel. That means that you could get an annual discount of up to £80 if you have your gas and electricity with us.

When you sign up, you’ll also register your interest for a smart meter. A smart meter shows energy usage in real time and sends meter readings automatically. So your bills will be accurate* and you’ll have a better idea where you can use less energy, helping you save money. We’ll contact you when you’re eligible for your smart meter installation.

*We rely on a mobile phone or wireless signal to receive your readings. If these fail, your bills will be estimated.

What you need to know

Information and prices related to SSE 1 Year Fixed v16 are correct as of January 2019. This tariff is available to Dual Fuel, gas only, electricity only and Electric with Heat (Domestic Economy, THTC, Superdeal, Economy 7 and Economy 10) customers who pay by variable or fixed monthly direct debit or quarterly billing only. If you leave SSE 1 Year Fixed v16 at any time after your start date and more than 49 days before the end of the 1 year period, we reserve the right to apply an early exit fee of £25 per fuel. We reserve the right to apply the exit fee to either your electricity or gas account. This fee will not be applied if we provide you with notice of any changes to your terms that may disadvantage you.

If you choose a fixed price tariff and pay by Direct Debit or Standing Order, you’ll get a discount of £40 a year for each fuel, when compared to another way of paying. The discount is applied to your standing charge on a pence per day basis, until your tariff ends. If you choose a standard variable tariff, your standing charge and unit rates will be reduced for paying by Direct Debit or Standing Order. Your discount will vary depending on how much energy you use, where you live and your meter type. Discounts do not apply to customers on an Energy Assist tariff or with a Pay As You Go meter.
