- Your estimated broadband speed
Your estimated access line speed is measured in megabits per second. It's based only on the distance of your house to the nearest telephone exchange.
It doesn't include factors such as the speed of your computer/device, internal wiring in your home, electrical interference, network traffic and the time of day. All these things can affect your broadband speed.
Remember, the maximum speed on some of our broadband packages is capped. Make sure you read through the product information before you apply.

Transferring to us from another provider
We aim to provide your phone and broadband services together, which can take up to 23 days. We’ll confirm all the details of your transfer (including the date your services will start) by email.
This package provides inclusive evening and weekend calls to 01, 02 and 03, plus up to 1000 minutes or 150 calls per month in the evening and weekend to 0845 and 0870 numbers. Evening and Weekend calls are those starting between 7pm to 7am weekdays, and anytime at the weekend. Maximum duration 70 minutes for each call, then the appropriate standard call change applies.
We don't include calls to personal numbers generally beginning 070.

If you change your phone provider, you‘ll be charged £18 p/m for broadband (being the standard price without the £10 phone bundle discount) and a termination fee. If you change your broadband package with SSE, then you’ll pay £18 p/m for Talk Evening & Weekend plus the cost of your new SSE Broadband package (if any). If you wish to leave your phone contract after the cancellation period, but before the end of your fixed term, you'll need to pay a termination charge. This will be £6.50 for each month remaining from your 18-month fixed term.
If you wish to leave your broadband contract after your service start date, but before month 12 of your contract, you'll need to pay a termination charge. This will be £4.00 for each month remaining up to month 18. There's also a one-off charge of £40 if you leave at any time during the first 12 months.
